Driftwood Hunting

It was a sunny day on Saturday, but a little too windy for the boat.  I decided to take the kids to the walk the banks of the waterway and look for driftwood or what ever has washed up.  We drove out to Mouzon’s Bluff and walked down the bank to the shell beach that follows the base of the bluff.  It was a nice walk down the bank, a little windy, but warm.  Baker caught this fiddler and avoided getting bit.

We found some interesting pieces that will work great for making a sign for my wifes new gift shop, along with this large piece that will work for a bench.  I took several small boards that I found and put together this birdfeeder.

If you go by boat there are some real interesting pieces washed up on some of the small islands along the waterway.  It is a great source of material for an artist with a little vision.
